Greetings! I'm Prashanth Balakrishnan, hailing from the enchanting island of Sri Lanka, with over 7 years of immersive experience in the realm of software development. Graduated from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, I embarked on a journey marked by continuous learning and meaningful contributions.

Over the years, I've worked with different companies, in different roles, honing my skills as a Software Engineer. I've been involved in creating modern software applications.

These experiences have given me a strong grasp of software development, helping me succeed in fast-paced environments.

‍Prashanth’s experience

- My journey commenced with an enriching internship at Virtusa, where I delved into Java backend development, pioneering a process automation tool. Venturing into uncharted territories, I honed my skills in IOS app automation, introducing IOS10 automation via Appium, a significant accomplishment that set the stage for my passion for innovation.

- Transitioning to GapStars as a Blockchain engineer, I immersed myself in the dynamic world of blockchain applications. From crafting smart contracts using Solidity to developing a ReactNative mobile application, I embraced the intricacies of JS by working with React, ReactNative, and Node.js, laying the groundwork for my expertise in full-stack development.

- My journey is currently at Procys, where I ascended to the role of Associate Team Lead, steering the full-stack team towards excellence. Harnessing the power of GoLang for backend development and ReactJS for the frontend, I navigated the complexities of building a cutting-edge SAAS application. Alongside, I delved into Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), expanding my horizons in cloud-native technologies.

As a proficient developer, my expertise encompasses a wide array of technologies. While React remains my framework of choice for frontend endeavours, my journey in backend development has been an exhilarating evolution. From my roots in Java to embracing the simplicity of Python, and ultimately harnessing the power of Node.js and GoLang, each step has enriched my understanding of software architecture and scalability.

Away from the screen and keyboard, I find solace in the rhythm of cricket, watching and especially playing. Exploring the wonders of nature fuels my spirit, with a penchant for serene hilltops, cold-scenic locales and sandy shores alike. And of course, a culinary enthusiast at heart, I savour the eclectic flavours of Chinese, Indian, and Sri Lankan cuisines, relishing the harmony of sweet and savoury delights.
