Accelerating action for gender equality in the document processing industry

As we celebrate International Women’s Day 2025, I am proud to share my journey and thoughts on how we can accelerate action toward gender equality - especially in the tech and document processing industries.

Following passions

My career path has been quite an evolution. I started in customer service, where I honed my skills in handling information with precision. Later, I transitioned into finance, which allowed me to develop a keen eye for detail and organization. While these experiences were valuable, I always found myself drawn to the structure, efficiency, and impact of document processing.

Now, as I pursue my career in this field at Procys, I see it as the perfect blend of my past experiences and my passion for clarity and precision. The journey has been rewarding, filled with learning and growth, and I’m excited to see where it takes me next.

Accelerating action in technology

When I think about the IWD 2025 theme, I believe that prioritizing health and well-being is crucial to achieving gender equality in the IT industry. In an industry where women's representation is still limited, it is not enough to simply hire more women. Companies must create environments where women can thrive, addressing challenges such as burnout, work-life balance, and significant life transitions like maternity and menopause.

A truly inclusive IT workplace values both representation and well-being, recognizing that sustainable progress comes from supporting women at every stage of their careers.

Valuable advice for ambitious women

For women looking to enter or advance in the document processing industry, I believe that confidence and continuous learning are key. Mastering industry tools, staying updated on automation and AI trends, and seeking mentorship to build a strong network are invaluable steps forward.

Your skills in organization, analysis, and communication are valuable and it’s vital to trust in your abilities and advocate for yourself.

Embrace growth, stay adaptable, and remember that your contributions can shape the future of this evolving field.

Why equality is a smart business strategy

I believe that organizations and industry leaders play a critical role in driving faster progress toward gender equality.

Creating inclusive workplaces where women feel valued and supported is essential. This includes fair pay, equal opportunities, and flexible work policies that accommodate different life stages.

When organizations actively support women, they drive innovation, productivity, and lasting positive change. Supporting women's well-being and career development isn’t just a moral imperative - it’s a smart business strategy.

Saluting inspiring women

Reflecting on my inspirations, I think of my mother, whose dedication and leadership pushed me to always strive for more and never settle for less than I’m capable of.

I’ve also drawn inspiration from industry leaders like Reshma Saujani, who have shown what’s possible for women in the tech field.

Their achievements remind me that, no matter the obstacles, women can break barriers and lead with strength, compassion, and resilience.

Exploring these ideas and experiences has reminded me that accelerating action for gender equality requires more than just words - it requires meaningful steps that create lasting change.

To this end, I am proud to be part of an organization that is committed to this journey, an organization that supports and empowers women.
